Leslie is the older sister, and lead vocalist for Lucky Penny. Leslie has made a reputation for herself with her high energy performances, masterful stage presence and a powerful vocal prowess that enables her to sing the likes of Melissa Ethridge, Stevie Nicks, Robert Plant, Patsy Cline, and many more. If Leslie has a mind to sing a song-- she finds a way, regardless of genre.
Leslie started learning her vocal craft in middle school choir, and still considers herself a student to this day. She takes vocal lessons from the indelible, Barbara Free. Through choir competitions, performances, live theatre, and previous band experiences Leslie has a chameleon-like vocal quality that enables her to sing across a wide span of musical genres from Broadway showtunes to opera and rock.
Other notable benchmarks for the LPS kitchen-sink vocalist include modeling in the pre-pubescent years, a slew of independent films, highly praised theatre performances ranging from classical to weird and modern, as well as several writing credits too!
Another deep seated passion of the Delaware native has always been writing. Leslie was first published at the age of eight, and continued earning notoriety and praise for English projects and creative writing projects throughout her education. Two poems of hers were published in a compilation of young American writers when she was nineteen. In June of 2022, Leslie self-published her very first novel, a fictional paranormal thriller called "White Lantern". The novel is available only on Amazon in paperback and hardcover. Should you be so bold as to buy a copy and bring it to a show-- she would be only too happy to sign it for you.... and she may cry.... cuz she's actually a big softie... she just looks like she snacks on souls for fun!
Leslie's music tastes are as varied as her vocal range (4.5 octaves to be exact) and she has trouble pinpointing who her main influences were when she was growing up. Though, when she was 12 she told her mother she was going to quit singing forever because she didn't sound like Whitney Houston -- so glean what you will from that statement. The first two CD's she bought with her own money were Tim McGraw and Mariah Carey. Lately she has been binging on Halestorm, David Guetta, Florence and the Machine, Tori Amos, Tina Turner, and Andrea Bocelli. She sings opera usually exclusively when she is doing the dishes, unless she is listening to the soundtrack to Hamilton.
When Leslie is not singing, she is at home with her amazing two sons and spoiled dog named Leia Hermione. Leslie runs a photography business, works full time as a paralegal at a law firm in her hometown, speaks French, and jumps into everything she tries with both feet. Leslie loves sushi, red meat, chocolate, live theatre, live music, art, thunderstorms and girls nights in with no singing involved and mountains and piles and landslides of books. All the books.
In a nutshell: the loudest, goofiest nerd and kitchen sink of everything human careening around this thing called life on two wheels, Jesus, junk food, and no brakes.
